Hello everybody in this list!
It has been a long time...
Now I am writing in order say: Thank You Nick Pappas! I've just read "Castellorizo. An Illustrated History of The Island and its Conquerors". Fantastic book and I love it! Kyrana, my mother-in-law, and my wife Helena had enjoyed the passages that I read for them. Kyrana is full of rememberances that her mother passed to her. It was great! We enjoyed some "learning breakfasts" early in the morning, talking about the book and Kyrana's comments.
For those like me that enjoy to deal with genealogy and ancestors, this book is a "must have". Every genealogy tree has a context. This book allows the reader to understand the "Hows and Whys" of emigration, why there are French graves in Castellorizo Cemetery, in wich ways Italian, French and British people had left a mark on the island, good or bad. Why Castellorizian's had such pride for their homeland...
Of course a lot of questions had been raised in my mind... I will write them in the genealogy section.
Congratulations Nick!
