Hi All As some of you already know I have a website that includes many Castellorizian families that are both related and non related to me. Because of various wonderful recent submissions and numerous exchanges of emails (especially from this forum) this site now contains over 6,000 people of Castellorizian descent or connection. I am now considering creating a website that is purely Cazzie based by removing my own non Cazzie families onto another URL. This will take a few months to implement. I am 1/2 Cazzie, with my late mother born in Castellorizo. I invite anyone who wants to display their Cazzie heritage to utilise this site for that means. If your parents or grandparents gave you details of your ancestors why not place it online so that other family members can share this information - and possibly expand on that info. There are cousins out there who may never have the opportunity to source the information you have collected, who now can access mediums such as a website like this. I have no vested interest other than being a genealogist for over twenty years and have experienced the success of locating family rellies throughout the world. This is a great way to link to other family members who are now starting to search for links to their Cazzie heritage. I will always list the contributor as the source of the information and the data is always owned by the submitter. I have a website ready and available at no cost whatsoever to you and without the need to purchase programs, purchase webspace or learn website construction. I am happy to carry the costs. The website requires 'Log In' access to display names, dates etc for living people, thus protecting their privacy from outside persons. It is the best genealogical program available. Drop me an email if you wish to consider placing your family online and we can discuss it further. Photographs and stories are most welcomed. Also discussions on this forum can be made so much easier by utilising family trees to show ancestry, instead of trying to describe and compare relationships and families into words. Best wishes .....Allan (Agapitos) Cresswell www.ozgenealogy.info/genealogycressie@bigpond.net.au ozgenealogy@hotmail.com

Hi Allan,
It sounds a good idea, as you already have my wife's Kastellorion family please use it for the new site. It could introduce a lot more "cousins". Best regards Brian

I visited the site and I loved it. THANK YOU for creating this plataform for the preservation of family history and Castellorizian history, as well. It's a great tool for genealogy researchers like me.

Hi Marian I have contacted you privately re your message and given you a userid and password. For the benefit of others on this forum..... The old site "ozgenealogy" is now for my own family only. The later Cazzie Genealogy website is at www.castellorizo.org and includes over 10600 names to date, including much of Marian's husband's family. The www.castellorizo.org site has recently been partially opened to the public but living people (or those thought to be alive) show only as "Living" to protect their personal details. A userid and password supplied by me gives full access. Go to the following url to register for access: www.castellorizo.org/newacctform.php I can also be contacted on the website by clicking the option "Contact Us". The newsletter of the Castellorizian Assn of WA is at www.castellorizo.org/newsletter which also has items of historical and family interest. Regards Allan

Hi Allan!
Great idea!
I´ve been working in my wife's genealogical tree (Spyrides from father branch and Christofi from mother's). Nowadays is quite big, with 631 names and increasing. I think that it will became HUGE if it is on the Internet, and better, if users help us with mistakes.
It is worth to mention that it will be nice to have more information with regard to the Brazilian branches of Komninos, Atherinou, Diamantaras, Christofi, Pítsica, Kotzias, Koutzoukos, etc, etc.
The problem is... that I´ve made it with "Family Tree Builder 2.0", of MyHeritage.com, in order to take advantage of "smart matches" (I guess that TNG software has not this tool, is it right? Do you know it?). Is TNG software able to read GED.COM?
I will visit your site in order to ask for a password. Ok?
Regards!

Hi Cristian
Thanks for the contact. I run the Genealogy program called Legacy on my PC and upload weekly per gedcom to the TNG program for all the updates. So to answer your question, yes I can import gedcoms into the Legacy program then upload the updated new Legacy file to TGN.
If you are able to send me a gedcom to my email at cressie@bigpond.net.au I can then put up your work. I always show credit for the info by way of nominating the source of the data. Since October 2007 quite a few people have made contact with cousins per the geni website from around the world. The site was about 3000 names in October 2007 and now is over 10600.
I include for submissions details on all people with a Cazzie descent and the parents of those persons who marry into Cazzie descendants (if known).
I have had only one Brazil submission before and that came from a Comninos who has now added his family and photos to the site. His family came to Florianopolis in Brazil.
Looking forward to anything you can provide for the site.
Best wishes Allan (Agapoitos) Cresswell 1/2 Cazzie

Hi Cressie.
Together with a distant relative in the USA we are putting together a geneology book for the Stavrianou Spartalis family originating from Kalamaki Asia Minor. We are fairly advanced and once completed will definatley add to your site. Wonderful idea to have a web site just for the "Cazzies"
We also will be seeking to have our own website so those interested in the family can print themselves a hard copy for future generations. We have been working on it for approx 4years and hope to complete it early 2009. The delay has been that more and more documents have been coming to light with the help of Nick Pappas

I'd love to write about the history of my great grandmother who eloped with her husband and left for the island of Karpathos but unfortunately her family disowned her. So - we have no connection nor communication nor information on my great grandmothers Chrisanthi Stampoulis family. I would love to learn though about them because she a brave women with many talents that has left some elderly women still speaking of her to this day. Obviously I never met her since she past away while my father was a young boy. I just have an urge to get to know that side of the family as well.. even if I don't know them as family.

Hi All Since posting the initial report on this forum in 2007 re the Castellorizian Genealogy Website there has been numerous submissions by hundreds of individuals to provide info regarding their family. The site now contains 16950 persons of Castellorizian descent or associated families. In addition there are nearly 1500 photos relating to Castellorizians. Submissions are always welcomed and it is hoped that the website will exceed 20000 during 2010. To assist in this regard I have created a Help screen on how to submit data to the website. This screen can be located within the 'Features' column on the website homepage at: www.castellorizo.orgMy contact details are also listed on this help page. Please do help the Cazzie Geni Website to become an extensive and comprehensive database of our heritage. This will assist to ensure that existing knowledge of our ancestors details are preserved for future generations. Best wishes Allan (Agapitos) Cresswell
