Hi Nicholas and team, I'm really hoping you may know about marriage dowries from the 1880 - 1890 period on Cazzie. I'm the chief researcher for my husband's family and we live in Perth. He is Steve Savas Filmer, his mother is Chrissie Filmer nee Palassis, his grandfather is Vassilios (aka Basil) Palassis but it is his great grandfather who has a bit of a mystery that we'd love to solve - his name is Nicholas Palassis (see photo). Chrissie says that Nicholas was married twice - first to Maria, whose children were Palassis and John and others, and went by the surname Pitsonis. But when he remarried to Assimina (see photo), who had Michael, Vassilios and Eftihia, they used the surname Palassis. This is what I'd like to find: (1) We would like to confirm these two marriages so we can officially link the families. (2) We'd love to know the maiden name and father's name of second wife Assimina. At the moment we are relying on my mother-in-law's memory. (3) Do you know how we could get a copy of the dowry contract, preferably a translated version? We've heard that you are the man Thanks for your help, Anita Anita Verne (aka Filmer)

There is a Michael Nicholas Palassis (b.08 Nov 1891, d.12 Feb 1960 in Brisbane) named in the research I'm presently doing. He was the son of Nicholas Palassis (1840-1910) and Assimina Pitsonis (1858-1930)
