Here are some stories I have received a certain Diamandaras who was born in Ithaca traveled to Castellorizo in the late 18th century. Spyro Diamandaras born 1795, who was a sea captain, with his own boat, and he was the one who put the boat in service of captain kanaris of Hydra during the revolution aganst the turks before 1821 when Greece was liberated.
He married a local girl called Anna they had 10 children the youngest was Spyro born 1805 In around 1830, brothers and sisters Vlasis, Parasqueva, Apostolis, Ppisinnis, Nicolas, Vasillis, Mixalis, Katina, Chrystinna
Now this is where I get really confused I have two family trees and stories from family that I can not put together I have a tree in English written and brief I have a tree set very nicely but in I think Portuguese, okay,
Spyro married Chrystella Papaostolou and they had 6 children Diomataris, Apostolos, Dialecti, Costantinos 1846-died 1921 Anna and Achileas1852-1927. Chrystella passed away date not known.
Spyro then took a second wife and they had a further 5 children Anastasia Hatzisavvas Efstathio, Promdhromos, Areti, Evangelia and Efterrpi.
Kosta (married to Annastasia born1864-1912) who adopted the name Spyridis was a doctor Obstertician he studied in Athens, Paris and probably in the USA to practice in Konstantinople but he preferred to stay on the island and was also very active in the demogerontia (Council) on the island. yes its true at the time in Paris it was fashionable for names to end in idis, which meant “son-of” Hence son of Spyro.
Children Crystalia, Nickola1885-1973,Evdhoquia1887-1940, Eleftarios, Anna, Dialcti1903
His second son Spyro (married Argiro) my great grand father he recounts that he was born 1883,that he traveled to Egypt then Russia, where he was caught in the Russian revolution, and ended up in China.
My grand father Kosta(married Irena)born 1910 died may 1974 and then Dad (Spyro) 04 jun 1934 died jul 05
Information and Dates are still being studied
