This is one of those “loose ends” that I thought I would throw open to the forum to see if anybody out there can show any light on the subject.
In 1952 my wife’s grandfather Anastasios Lefkaritis (Australian name: Ernie Canaris) living in Perth W.A., made an application to sponsor two potential immigrants being: - Markos AUGOULIS, age 34, Greek, electrician (born 17 August 1917) - Ioanis SARAGAS, age 28, Greek, electrician (born 6 January 1927) Both were stated on the application as “nephew” and having place of residence in Egypt, the dates of birth are from the back of the photos attached to the application. The application by Anastasios was rejected being a pensioner, but stated that should the applicants reapply with a more suitable sponsor then it would receive favourable consideration. Having racked the fading memories of family member still around, neither of the above is known as being family. However considering that Anastasios made another application in the same year for two of his granddaughters and on the application form he stated one of the girls to be his niece and the age of one of the girls was incorrect. Thus was the relationship “nephew” correct on the application for Markos and Ioanis.
So did Markos and Ioanis eventually immigrate to Australia and does anybody know of these men so that we can tie up the loose end. Thanks Brian and Chrystallo

Brian and Chrystallo,
Neither name you mention appears to have a Castellorizian connection according to available records.
