Hi There are many fine early photographs of Castellorizians who went to Western Australia to seek their fortune and to look for a new life in a young country. The WA goldfields were the main attraction initially and many men went to Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie and other goldmining towns. One photo is that taken at Easter c 1903 at Day Dawn near Cue Western Australia, some 650 kilometres North East of Perth. This great photo was made available to me courtesy of Kevin Kannis of Perth. Those in the photo are: STANDING (From Left): Unk, Agapitos Michael Michael (Hatzimarkou) (father of the current WA Governor), Unk, Unk, Kyriakos Constantine Passaris and Peter Spiro Michelides (was to become father of the Greek Community of WA, WA tobacco grower and cigarette manufacturer). FRONT (Sitting or kneeling from Left): Panos Katavatis (from Santorini), Antonios Constantine Passaris, Unk, Unk, Basile Karatza and Unk. Basile was to become a profesional photographer in the goldfields and he took this photo on a delayed exposure. Allan
