Hi, I am trying to trace my family's origins. I know that my Great Grandfather's family is from Kastelorizo and that their last name was Yiallouris (Giallouris?)... does anyone know of any Yiallouris's from Kastellorizo? Best regards, Nicholas

WOW! I am really impressed! My Great-Grandfather was Giorgos Gialouris who married in Symi died in Rodos (to Kalliopi Pachou and had three children Antonios, Eleftherios (april 3rd 1915- July 1971 and was my mother's father), and Tsambika Gialouris who is still living on Rhodes Island). Both sons died in Fort Lee, New Jersey USA and had changed their last name to Lowris. You really helped fill in a small gap and its great to see how the rest of the family progressed! Thanks for you help! any other information is more than welcomed! best regards, Nicholas

Is it possible to get a marriage certificate of Yiorgos Yiallouris to Asimina Iacovoy-Galogeri? Or if any available of their children. Is their anyway I can find out if they had all left for Australia at the same time? Also is anywhere aware if there is more than one cemetery on the island of Kastelorizo? I walked through the one in the Mandraki area and found no relative on the legible tombstones, though many were in very bad condition.

Yiallouris:
Hi my name is Eva Koutsoukos. My parents were Geogios Koutsoukos and Chrisanthi Samiotis. My maternal great grand father (on my grandmother's side) was Antonios Yiallouris.
He married Asimina Iacovoy-Kalogeri They had 5 children: Georgios, Kostandis, Katerna (my grandmother), Yiacomis, and Chrousafina (Kiafiri).
As Allan mentioned Kostandis changed his name to Constantinos Antoney - after his father's 1st name. He was my great Uncle, and would visit us in Newcastle St in West Perth when I was a child. He died in 1957. He sponsored mum's brothers to Perth, as their father had died when they were very young.
Chrousafina was the youngest of the 5 children. She was known as Kiafiri. She died in 1974. She was my mother's aunty, and was 11 years old when my mother was born, and they were very close.
Regards to all Evdokia (Eva) Koutsoukos

Evdokia, Thanks for the insight. So basically you are like my Mum's second cousin. She always new that her father had cousins in Australia but never knew anything about them. Any ideas what happened to Yiacomis? Also can you possibly clear up if it was Iacovos Kalogeri or Galogeri. It is quite a big difference in name even if its only one letter. Galogeri is a very rare name and in searching I have only found one person with the last name Galogeri
