Hi All The photo below was supplied to me this week by Mrs Ethel Xanthis (nee Simeon). Aunty Ethel was born in Wagin Western Australia in 1922 but returned with her family to Castellorizo a few years later. The family was later to migrate to Australia. I have quite a few of the girls names but will post after I have visited another person who also is in the photo with Aunty Ethel. Regards Allan

I am re-posting this photo with all the names I have to date. Other contributions are welcome. I am mindful that one of the names I have been given differs from kritikos' post above. If kritikos is certain, I will remove the name I have been given. Nicholas

This photo is very nice. However the girl reported to be as my mother Angeliki Ghika, more likely seems to be my aunt Anastasia Ghika (Tassia). They have just abt 2 years difference but they were looking very similar and often people were believing they were twin sisters. Kind regards. Antonio Vecchi

I was aiming to support my previous intervention regarding the difference between sisters Angeliki and Anastasia, by sending a photo of 1939 showing these two lovely girls while collecting flowers in their garden at Castellorizo, just to show them together and to enable Nicholas to amend his identification of the Ghika girl shown at the Junior girl's class in 1930. Regretfully this post is not enabling me to send pictures, probably it's not working. If moderators Nicholas or Alan likes, I can send this photo to their private emails. By this occasion pls have my best wishes of happy new year to all australian friends of Castellorizian origins. Bye Antonio Vecchi

Antonio,
Thank you for pointing out this error to the Forum. If you like, please send to my private e-mail address the photo of your mother's sister which you refer to and I will post it to the Forum, as you have asked.
Thanks again, Nicholas

Dear Nicholas,
I am now confirming that my mother Eleni Koutsoukos is the girl above Maria Fermanis in the photo.
Cheers Vicky Kritikos

Hi Nicholas - I am wondering if the girl named as Evdokia Manifi could possibly be Evdokia Paldiri -
I have photos of Evdokia with some of the Manifis children taken in Perth in 1948 -
I have also put together a collage of photos of Eva over the years and one photo in particular bears a close resemblance in my opinion.
I will post the link later tonight to the image...
just a thought - I know this was Eva's teacher - she said the number of stripes on the collar indicated the class year - one stripe /first year - two stripes/ second year - three stripes/ third year.
Kind regards, Milli

Hi Nicholas - I was just wondering if there is any possibility the girl labelled as Evdokia Manifi might be Evdokia Paldiri. I have put together a collage of photos at the following link of Eva ( Evdokia) at various ages - picasaweb.google.com.au/lh/photo/ERTYBody3Gs17Djqr6-rug?feat=directlinkI know this was her teacher in school - and Eva said the number of stripes on the collar indicated the year level - so one stripe was Year One, two stripes was Year Two and three stripes was Year Three... I have quite a few photos of Eva with some of the Manifis children in Perth in 1948 - and I wondered if this might have been a link to the name. Just a thought... Milli

The girl and boy seated on the ground in the lower far right of the photo are my Mom Maria Kambouris Antoniou and her brother, my uncle, Christos Kambouris Antoniou. The teacher seated by them is their Aunt.
Kambouris was their mother, my Yia Yia Aikaterini’s name before she married my grandfather Evangelos Antoniou. His sister, my great aunt is Kyra tis Ro.
If possible, I would love to see them identified in the photo.
